Since 2009, an interdisciplinary project between computer vision and art history is embedded within the group. Jointly, the group carries out art historical research by analyzing data sets of cultural heritage.
The project developed tools to assist with art historical research; so far, different image collections were analyzed, including manuscripts, prints, paintings, architectural images, validating the efficiency of computer-based methods.
